Jens Biegert and Britta Redlich elected Chair and Vice-Chair of General Assembly of Laserlab-Europe AISBL

Jens Biegert and Britta Redlich have recently been elected Chair and Vice-Chair of the General Assembly of Laserlab-Europe AISBL, the international not-for-profit association representing 45 leading laser research infrastructures in 22 European countries.

Laserlab-Europe has started as an EU-funded project that aims to strengthen Europe’s leading position and competitiveness in the area of laser research. To achieve this goal, it promotes the Europe-wide use of advanced lasers and laser-based technologies in research and innovation and serves as a cross-disciplinary user community from academia and the industry. In order to give this long-term project continuity, Laserlab-Europe AISBL was formed as an international not-for-profit association. The General Assembly is the AISBL’s decision-making body, which appoints an Executive Director for the daily business that the General Assembly decides.

Prof Dr Jens Biegert (ICFO, Spain) and Prof Dr Britta Redlich (FELIX, The Netherlands) both have been actively engaged over many years with the EU-funded project Laserlab-Europe, the integrating initiative of European laser research infrastructures. Since the foundation of Laserlab-Europe AISBL, they have also been serving on the Management Board of the association.

Congratulations to Jens and Britta!
