Hands-on Course on MINDLAB: Manipulating and Investigating Neural Dynamics for Learning and Ageing in the Brain, 12-15 November 2024, Castelldefels/Barcelona, Spain

The HANDS-ON COURSE on MINDLAB  will take place at  ICFO from November 12 to 15, 2024. 

In collaboration with the Laserlab-Europe project, we aim to reach out to international students and young researchers across Europe. 

• The course will be focused on explaining basic processes of how neuronal cells work and how they get organized to produce network function. 
• The structure of the course will include theoretical sessions to introduce the concepts (basic and advanced) and practical experimental sessions on the advance tools used to experience the different techniques used by MINDLAB faculty to interrogate physiological function of the brain. Here the students will have the opportunity to use the latest instrumentation to monitor, image and manipulate brain cells, across the different scales going form molecules to patient. 
• To achieve the training goals, two different blocks have been designed. One block will consist of taught course of entry-level lectures given by ICFO faculties. These will be complemented by 1 hr key-note presentations by the invited speakers (6 in total) showing the state-of-the art in MINDLAB techniques. The second block, given by ICFO staff, will be based on hands-on sessions using some of the advanced instrumentation available at ICFO.
