Accommodation

We recommend to stay at the SwissTech Hotel, directly on the EPFL Campus (address: Route Louis Favre 10B, CH-1024 Ecublens), but there are also other hotels available in Lausanne. In any case, please, book your stay as early as possible, taking into account that we will start on 4 October in the morning (9 am CEST), so arrival on 3 October is recommended.

Travel

From Geneve Airport

Trains (https://www.sbb.ch/en/) from Geneve Airport to Morges every 15 min. Get off at Morges and take a train to Renens-VD. Then take the Metro m1 towards Lausanne-Flon and get off at Ecublens VD, EPFL. Alternatively, get off at Morges and continue by taking the MBC (Bus) line 701 (https://www.mbc.ch/lines/MBC_BUS:Line:701) towards Lausanne Bourdonnette. Get off at St-Sulpice Paqueret or St-Sulpice Science Park.

Travel time 1:00-1:15. You can purchase your ticket:
- machines in the stations (payment in CHF, EUR and by credit card),
- the machine located in the “baggage reclaim area” of the airport (accessible only to arriving passengers),
- the counters of the SBB Travel Centre in Genève-Aéroport station.

From Zurich Airport

Trains (https://www.sbb.ch/en/) from Zürich Airport to Lausanne main station every half hour. From Lausanne station take the metro m2 towards Croisettes and get off at Lausanne-Flon. Then take the Metro m1 towards Renens-CFF and get off at EPFL.

Travel time app. 3:00. You can purchase tickets for all public transport services at SBB ticket machines in Arrival 1 and 2, in the area of Check-in 3.

Public transport in Lausanne

Ask your hotel for your personal Lausanne Transport Card (LTC)! You can use public transport (bus, train, metro) for free during your whole stay (maximum 15 days) in Lausanne and its surroundings. This personal card is given to every visitor by their accommodation when they arrive at their place of stay. It is valid for the period of the visitor’s reservation including the day of arrival and day of departure (up to a maximum of 15 days). The 1st journey to the accommodation is also free upon presentation of the booking confirmation. Proof of identity must be provided if the card is checked at any time.
