As many of you will be aware Prof Nick Besley (University of Nottingham) tragically died after a cycling accident in June. As part of our seminar series in X-ray spectroscopy, we are hosting a webinar (Tue, 14th September, 10:00 – 11:00 BST) honouring Nick’s work in core-hole spectroscopy.

This webinar, which includes contributions from Prof. Peter Gill, Dr. Adam Fouda and Dr. Magnus Hanson-Heine, will describe the extensive work Nick did in in this field including the maximum overlap method and core-hole extensions to configuration interaction and coupled cluster methods. All of which is implemented within the quantum chemistry software Q-Chem.
