This webinar will explore the current state-of-the-art and recent developments in laboratory-based X-ray spectroscopy.

Speaker: Prof. Gerald Seidler, University of Washington

Jerry Seidler is a Professor of Physics at the University of Washington. His research emphasizes the use of synchrotron x-ray light sources to study problems in basic, applied, and environmental energy science.

This includes experiments on materials for battery electrodes, supercapacitors, photovoltaic cells, actinide fuels for fission reactors, and catalysts for both hydrocarbon cracking and for fuel cells. His group also plays an important role in the development of new x-ray spectroscopies for general users of the Department of Energy light sources, including especially instrument development for inelastic x-ray scattering and x-ray emission spectroscopy.
