27 September - 1 October 2021, Laser Plasma Summer School (LaPlaSS2021): "Experimental methods in High Intensity Laser-Plasma processes”, online event

The Centro de Láseres Pulsados & the CLPU Laser-Plasma Chair at the University of Salamanca present the 4th edition of the Laser Plasma Summer School (LaPlaSS2021). It is titled "Experimental methods in High Intensity Laser-Plasma processes” and it will be 100 % online (in Zoom platform) from September 27th to October 1stParticipation is FREE but registration and reservation are required (deadline: September 17th). Information and registration page can be found HERE

The main objective of LaplaSS is to form students in the new emerging field of laser plasma physics, and laser particle acceleration which are both fields of investigation with deep relation with the ultrafast ultra-intense lasers as VEGA. Indeed, High power lasers such as VEGA can accelerate particle beams and create extreme plasmas.

International recognised professors form EU and abroad will teach laser-plasma related topics and a special section in the afternoon is organised by the CLPU team and will be more focused on the CLPU experimental activities.

This field of investigation can generate several improvements in many fields of research directly connected to civil applications among which few examples are:

  • Ion beam for medical application (proton therapy)
  • Fast and resolved imaging for biology
  • Laser fusion and Astrophysics
  • Cultural heritage and material science applications
