Vacancy for Research Technician Electron Accelerators and Lasers, Delft University of Technology, Netherlands

A permanent position is available to maintain, develop and operate two high-energy electron accelerators at Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands.

You collaborate with other technicians (electronics and laser engineers) and scientists.

The accelerators are used by researchers to investigate the characteristics of charge carriers and electronic excited states in new nanomaterials with potential applications in e.g. solar cells, LEDs and nanoelectronics. Specification of accelerator facilities

1) A 3 MeV van de Graaff accelerator that can be operated in nsec pulsed, or

    continuous mode, with time-resolved microwave and optical detection.

2) A laser-driven radiofrequency accelerator delivering 4 MeV electron pulses of psec

    duration. This accelerator has just been moved to a new lab and needs to be   

    reconstructed together with time-resolved detection capabilities.

 

Requirements
- Higher Professional Education (Bachelor), Master or PhD (e.g. in physics, optics)

- Preferably experience with analog and high-voltage electronics, vacuum techniques and RF-techniques


Conditions of employment

We offer a temporary appointment for 1 year with the possibility of extension to a permanent contract.
