Two postdoc positions in the Suzuki group at Kyoto University, Japan
Two postdoc positions are available in the Suzuki group at Kyoto University, Japan.
The research area is ultrafast XUV photoelectron spectroscopy and ultrafast infrared absorption spectroscopy of non-adiabatic dynamics molecules under isolated and aqueous molecular environment. Recent articles are found here:
Ultrafast ring-opening reaction of 1,3-cyclohexadiene: https://doi.org/10.1021/jacs.1c01896
Ultrafast internal conversion in pyrimidine nucleobases: https://doi.org/10.1021/jacs.2c0980
Ultrafast ring closure reaction of cis-stilbene: https://doi.org/10.1021/jacs.3c12266
The candidate will be using the instruments such as a high-repetition rate HHG light source driven by a Yb:KGW amplifier, a 10 fs DUV/XUV laser system driven by a Ti:sapphire amplifier, and UV-IR pump-probe system with a 10 kHz broad band IR laser.
It is desirable for the candidate to have experience in ultrafast laser spectroscopy, while we also welcome an application from anyone who has strong motivation for the experimental research on ultrafast chemical dynamics. The positions are immediately available. The starting date is negotiable, but it should not be later than October 2023. The appointment is for two years and extendable upon mutual agreement. The airfare, ground transportation, and an initial stipend for settling are covered. A health insurance is provided. A monthly salary will follow the Kyoto University guideline and will be decided depending on the candidates’ career and research achievements.
Application deadline is March 24, 2023. But, when suitable candidates are found, we might close the call earlier than the deadline. Application form should include CV, a list of publication, a brief description of past scientific achievements and research interests. These materials in pdf files should be sent to suzuki@kuchem.kyoto-u.ac.jp. Any questions regarding the position is welcome.
