Theory Postdoctoral Position in Ultrafast X-ray Science at Argonne National Laboratory, Lemont, IL, USA

The Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics (AMOP) Group at Argonne National Laboratory has an opening for a theoretical postdoctoral position. Based on interests and experience, the successful candidate will develop theoretical models for one or both of the projects:
(a) x-ray induced dynamics in gas and condensed phase systems (b) ultrafast molecular chirality probes by nonlinear x-ray techniques These theory projects are closely connected with the experimental efforts of the AMOP group, as well other research groups, using synchrotron and free-electron laser facilities around the world. Argonne National Laboratory is the home of POLARIS (a petascale computer) and AURORA (an exascale computer). The successful candidate will work closely with the scientists at ALCF to develop highly parallelized codes that make use of POLARIS and AURORA.
