Postdoctoral position Theory and Method Development for X-ray Spectroscopy, Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden
A one-years theoretical postdoctoral position is immediately available at the Division of Theoretical Chemistry and Biology at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. The project “Complex electron-nuclear and propagation dynamics in intense x-ray pulses'' is financed by a tax free scholarship from Carl Tryggers foundation (25,000 SEK/month) and will focus on theory and software development for studying ultrafast dynamics in molecules in linear and nonlinear realms using novel x-ray spectroscopy techniques. The project will benefit from a close collaboration with the VeloxChem quantum chemistry software development team (https://veloxchem.org/) and the PDC Center for High Performance Computing at KTH, as well as from a broad experimental collaboration at modern x-ray facilities worldwide.
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree in physics, theoretical chemistry, or related fields. Experience with theoretical AMO physics, theoretical chemistry, chemical physics are preferred. Candidates should have knowledge of Python programming as well as experience in method developments for molecular simulations. Interested candidates should send their CV, publication list, and a brief research summary to Dr. Victor Kimberg (kimberg@kth.se). For more details on research activities and publications, see https://www.kth.se/profile/kimberg/page/research-activities.
