Postdoctoral opportunity in strong THz field generation at University Duisburg- Essen, Germany

The University of Duisburg-Essen is seeking an experienced candidate for a postdoctoral stipend within a collaboration between the THz spectroscopy group of Martin Mittendorff and the photoemission spectroscopy group of Uwe Bovensiepen. In the focus of this effort is the strong THz field generation with nonlinear crystals and/or photoconductive emitters with amplified Ti:Sapphire laser systems to excite samples in ultrahigh vacuum for THz-pump photoemission-probe experiments. Initial funding of the stipend will be granted up to  18 months. We strongly support any efforts to apply for external funding. Additional employment as a PostDoc might be available after the stipend. This activity is part of the Collaborative Research Center 1242 "Non-Equilibrium Dynamics of Condensed Matter in the Time Domain".

The University of Duisburg-Essen, founded in 2003, is one of the youngest and largest universities of Germany (https://www.uni-due.de/en/university_more.php). It is located in the heart of Europe in the Ruhr area, with many nearby collaborators and universities.
