Postdoctoral Fellow in Experimental Physical/Biophysical Chemistry at Berkeley Lab, California, USA

Experimental Physical/Biophysical Chemistry Postdoctoral Fellow

Berkeley Lab’s Molecular Biophysics & Integrated Bioimaging (Dr. Jan Kern) and Chemical Sciences (Dr. Kevin Wilson) Divisions are looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow to focus on the development of novel experimental methods to generate aqueous droplets and measure heterogeneous reactions as well as enzyme reactions inside aqueous droplets and at nanoparticle interfaces using a combination of techniques.

The developed droplet mixing schemes will be utilized in two different areas. One is aiming at studying reactions of small molecules in aqueous phase by measurements using synchrotron-based (Advanced Light Source) and mass spectrometry methods. The other application of the droplet techniques will be to conduct time-resolved characterization of enzyme reactions with X-ray methods at synchrotrons and X-ray lasers including transition metal X-ray spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography.

Please apply by August 15, 2022.
