Postdoc position, Molecular Dynamics Simulations at Saarland University, Saarbrücken, Germany

A postdoc position is available in the group of Prof. Jochen Hub at Saarland University, Saarbrücken, Germany. The Saarland University is a research university of international renown with an excellent research environment for biophysics. Our research is focused on understanding structure, function, and dynamics of biological macromolecules by means of state-of-the-art computer simulations. Payment will be according to TV-L E13 (100%), and the employment will be initially limited to 2 years.

The next-generation exascale computers will enable accurate molecular dynamics simulations of increasingly complex biological or biophysical systems. The applicant will develop exascale simulations in collaboration with the external parters in Göttingen, Jülich, and abroad, with a focus on interpretation and modeling of X-ray scattering experiments in solution as well as on membrane biophysics. The project may involve, among others, modeling of experiments at X-ray free electron lasers, simulations of large disordered biomolecules guided by SAXS/SANS data, or constant-pH simulations of membrane proteins.

Deadline for application: 6 February 2023
