Postdoc position in theory of ultrafast light-matter interactionat the University of Hamburg, Germany
The group of Prof. Dr. Daria Gorelova at the University of Hamburg
https://www.physik.uni-hamburg.de/en/th1/ag-daria-gorelova.html
has an open postdoc position in Theoretical Physics to be filled as soon as possible. The candidate must have a PhD degree in Theoretical Physics or Theoretical Chemistry or must be expecting to get one by the start date. Good English skills are expected.
The candidate's project will be a part of a larger Freigeist Fellowship Project "Seeing excitons in motion" and the primary postdoc project is the theoretical description of ultrafast photoelectron momentum microscopy following excited-state dynamics in materials. In addition, the candidate is expected to help doctoral students, master or bachelor students with their projects, when necessary. The group works interdisciplinary and focuses on three types of systems: solid-state materials, molecules and hybrid systems.
The necessary requirements
Experience with electronic structure calculations, either in solid-state systems or in molecules.
Extensive experience in solving complex physical problems computationally.
Optional requirements: the ideal candidate has experience with at least one of the following
Light-matter interaction.
Coupled electron-nuclear or electron-phonon dynamics.
Excited-state dynamics.
Attosecond science.
The deadline for applications is 30. April 2023. Please send your application to daria.gorelova@cfel.de together with CV including publication list, transcript of records for bachelor and master degrees. Attach the PhD certificate, if already available, otherwise, state the expected date of the PhD defense explicitly.
