Postdoc position in laser spectroscopy at the University of Kentucky

A postdoctoral position is available at the University of Kentucky. Research projects involve spectroscopic characterization of metal clusters and complexes formed in the gas phase. The metal clusters or complexes are prepared in a pulsed molecular beam source, and their chemical compositions are identified with time-of-flight mass spectrometry. Spectroscopic measurements include pulsed-field ionization zero electron kinetic energy, mass-analyzed threshold ionization, infrared-ultraviolet photoionization, or photoelectron velocity-map imaging. The position is initially for one year and can be extended upon mutual agreement. The University of Kentucky is located in Lexington-the heart of Kentucky’s beautiful bluegrass region. Applicants should have a PhD in chemistry, physics, or a related field with experience in nanosecond pulsed laser systems and gas-phase molecular-beam laser spectroscopy.
