Project description

The project aims at understanding of electron dynamics in 2D materials using time- and angle-resolved photemission spectroscopy (trARPES). In particular, we will focus on the strong-field regime to investigate light-induced states (Floquet-Bloch states) and phase transitions. The proposed research will be mainly conducted at the newly developed experimental setup BALTAZAR with exceptionally high energy-resolution (ca. 9 meV) and broad pumping capabilities (0.3-9 um). Additional experiments include external beamtimes at free-electron lasers (FLASH, LCSL II) and synchrotrons (MAX IV, ASTRID).
