Post-doc opening at UC Berkeley/LBNL: Ultrafast dynamics in correlated materials and superlattices, California, USA

Our lab has an opening for a 2-year fully funded post-doctoral researcher in
the area of ultrafast dynamics in correlated materials and intercalated
superlattices. The position is focused on using ultrafast pump-probe
spectroscopic techniques such as time-domain THz spectroscopy, solid-state
high harmonic generation spectroscopy or broadband transient
absorption/reflectivity to investigate correlated states in emerging quantum
materials. The first part of the project focuses on studying coupled degrees
of freedom in correlated solids and modalities of ultrafast strain
engineering of material properties. The second part of the project focuses
on novel intercalated superlattices with applications to quantum information
science. Our lab features state-of-the-art instrumentation that has only
recently been fully commissioned. This project offers excellent
opportunities for a highly motivated scientist to interact with our local
collaborators in material synthesis and theory.
