Assistant Professor in Theoretical and Computational Condensed matter Physics, UAB, Birmingham, USA

The Department of Physics of the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) , is continuing to look to strengthen the Department’s program in Theoretical and Computational Condensed Matter Physics. In the Fall of 2021, we are looking to hire one more innovative and inclusive assistant professor with an outstanding publication record in theoretical and. computational condensed matter Physics and a strong commitment to excellence and diversity in research, teaching, outreach, and student research supervision, at both graduate and undergraduate levels.

Research areas of interest are broadly defined in theoretical physics, quantum materials science and computation, and quantum information science. They include, but are not limited to, high-performance computing, quantum computing and simulations, non-equilibrium dynamics, and data-driven simulations of quantum materials properties. Our new faculty member will also help us sustain departmental efforts for “data and digital literacy for all UAB students”. Our new Accelerated BS/MS programs (Research-Intensive and Data Science) are ranked among the top 25 Physics ABM programs in the USA.
