Partners - LOA
Laboratoire d’Optique Appliquée, Palaiseau, France
Description: Laboratoire d’Optique Appliquée is a centre dedicated
to ultrafast science with intense to ultraintense
femtosecond lasers.
LOA offers transnational access to 4 lasers and several associated
dedicated target areas:
- 100 TW ultrashort Ti:Sa laser (2.5J, 25 to 30 fs, 10 Hz) + 50mJ, 25 fs fully synchronized probe beam, with two equipped target areas (“Salle Jaune”). The target area is radio-protected (remote control) for weakly emitting experiments.
- 8 mJ, 30 fs, 1 kHz Ti:Sa laser system (“Salle Rouge“) with associated systems + associated XUV femtosecond, optic beamline fully equipped (XUV wave front sensor) associated: hard x-ray beamline for femtosecond x-ray diffraction.
- dye, 10 Hz, 80-fs laser, (“Salle Rose”), with one target area for femtochemistry, and one for ablation studies.
- Phase-stabilised, 30 fs 5mJ, 1 kHz laser or phase-stabilised 5 fs, 2 mJ, 1 kHz after pulse compression (“Salle Noire”). Secondary beam (40 nm, 500 as, ~1 μJ/pulse).
The lasers are permanently kept at their best levels of
performances. Each laser system has a group of one to
several engineers devoted to the maintenance and up-grade of the laser.
The LOA has also a mechanic
workshop, an experiment support staff, one person dedicated to X-ray
optics, and one person responsible of
radio-protection.
Experiments performed at LOA through transnational Access have always
the support of the full laser team,
priority to workshop or any technical assistance.
Excellence: Research with short-pulse and ultra-intense lasers, X-ray and particle sources
Main tasks: Infrastructure providing Access,
participant in JRAs LAPTECH and SFINX, participant in
networking activities.
Previous experience: Laboratoire d’Optique Appliqué
has 15 years of expertise on European project on
networking, Access and research activities.
